The 3D installation was commissioned by Tiger Beer to be part of an exclusive museum-on-the-streets happening in Singapore. Handson was the only student who was invited to exhibit at the event, alongside other creative professionals in the design industry.
This project is based on the convergence of Singapore’s merlion and tiger beer’s iconic feline. By combining the significance of our leading beer brewery with our world-renowned mascot, it exemplifies the influential energy of the lion city’s nightlife by placing it in the midst of night-goers’ prescence.
The entire installation was created with oriental paper fans, with strips of long cotton fabric that represent the Merlion’s mane. A light casts the energy of the tiger by shining through the paper material, creating a lantern-inspired effect.
